House Interactive Mini Album

A lot of my friends around the world complained that Christmas is over too quickly and they wished it could last a little longer. So how about putting your holiday photos in a small mini album that can fit in your bag and carry Christmas with you for a little while longer? This mini album is the perfect way to do just that!

I used Basically Bare Happy Little Houses chipboard set to create this mini, but since I had only two houses left (just goes to show you how much I love this set :-)), I used the houses as templates to create more houses that will be my mini album pages. So…let’s start!

First trace them on double sided patterned paper. In order to increase our “real estate” fold the paper in half and only then trace the shape. Cut the shape while the paper is folded living the side or the bottom un cut. This will give you an interactive page that can be opened!
Create three pages: first paper page, fold on the side, second paper page fold on the bottom. The third page will be the second chipboard house and it has three parts: folded square that fits the body of the house, folded triangle that fits the roof and one traced piece that would fit the backside of the chipboard house.

Next we’ll work on the front cover. Create a brick pattern with a stencil and modeling paste. Allow to dry. After drying spray the house with color spray. After it’s dry add a little more color with Photo Vintage distress ink. Next, emboss the house with white embossing powder to create a snow effect. I also added a second layer of sparkle embossing powder for a little bling. Embellish your pages but leave enough room for photos and journaling.

Create holes on the upper part of the roof with a Crop-A-Dile. Make sure to make the hole only in the front page of each folded page otherwise you will not be able to open it once it’s bound. Bind the mini album with a ring and add ribbons.

The photo size that would fit this mini is 2″ X 2 1/2″ max. So now all you need to do is add your holiday photos and carry Christmas with you!

Don't forget! you can watch the video tutorial to see how I created this project step by step!

Have fun creating!
