You and Me

Taking part in Prima's BAP is always fun and it's even better when my layout is featured in their blog!

In this layout I used a few mix media techniques that gave it more dimension and texture. I used  two kinds of circles masks. I started with molding paste to create white raised dots on the background. Then I added more dots using two colors of distress ink and a mask. I sprayed the layout with glimmer mists to add a little more color. I also stamped the backgorund with brown distress ink to add even more depth to the layout.

I used two copies of the same photo, onein color and the other in blck and white and then I added embellishments like ribbons and flowers. Finally I added a title and inked the edges of the layout.

Boys will be BOYS

Hi friends! A new DT layout I created for X mix. I created this layout in my favorite style...vintage, but not just vintage, boy's vintage. The kind with metal, cog wheels and brown colros.

I used the amazing 75 Censts collection by Kaiser Craft. I also added many "boys" embellishments like cog wheels and arrows chipboards and metal bits and pieces I have in my treasures box. Everytime I find a little piece of metal scrap or embellishment in a flea market, garage or even on the street, I put it in my treasures box, after all one man's junk is another woman's treasure!

I started by distressing all the papers and adhering them to the layout. Then I added the photos and all the embellishments. Finally I sprayed everything with a little glimmer mist and added the title.

התחלתי את העבודה על הדף בדיסטרוס הדפיםוהדבקתם.לאחר מכן הוספתי את התמונות והקישוטים. לבסוף, ריססתי את הכל בגלימר מיסט והוספתי את הכותרת

Materials:
Papers: Kaiser Craft - 75 cents - Farthing, Dime, Penny, Pound.
Embellishments: Chipboard shapes: Cog wheels and Arrows.
Other: metal embellishments
Mask: Crafter's Wrkshop - Mini circle explosion.
Ink: Ranger - Distress ink
Spray color - Glimmer mist

Inspiration Junction

Here's a Susan Weckesser DT project that will inspire you!

If you feel like your inspiration has left you just follow the directions and you will find it in no time!

I started with stamping a few of Susan Weckesser patterned papers with powerful inspiration words. Then I cut them into arrow shapes. I inked the edges and added embellishments that I cut from the papers.

I adhered the arrows to a wooden skewer and secured the skewer in putty.
Finally I added flowers and leaves on the bottom.

Now whenever I can't find my inspiration I look up and follow the arrows...

CREATE card

This week, our Susan K Weckesser team is partnering up for fun, color, and inspiration with Clearsnap. I made a fun card with a really easy technique for this great fun cross promotion.

I started my card with a white cardstock. I stamped it with Colorbox Chalk ink using Susan Weckesser splatter it stamp.

Then I created the flower. I stamped petals on a white cardstock with Colorbox Chalk ink Cat's eye in three different colors. After it was dry I cut the paper and stamped the other side. I glued the petals in layers to create the flower. I glued the flower to the card.

For my sentiment I cut words from Susan Weckesser patterned paper and stamped the word "Create" from the Painted Sentiments set. I inked the edges with chalk ink.
After adding the sentiment I embellished the card with different size and color buttons and added dots with Smooch accent inks.

Technique Corner - Flow with it!

Creating movement on a page is really easy. The best way is to avoid corners and squares and design a layout with flowy shapes such as waves , swirls or circles.

This layout is all about circles! circles of all sizes and materials. I wanted to create a flowy layout to echo the flow of water in the photos.

To create that I cut the photos into circles and added different round embellishments to complete the look. I put all of the elements on my layout in two opposite corners, like two river banks.

Smoothfoam Vintage Clock Tutorial

I'm happy to share with you my second project for Smoothfoam! What I loved about making this clock (besides the fact that it was easy and fun!) was being able to gather some of my favorite stickers, stamps, bottle caps, game pieces and other ephemera into pretty clusters all around the clock face.

Here are what you need to make this clock. You can give the clock your personal touch by adding more of your favorite embellishments.
Supplies:
10″ Smoothfoam disc
3-1/2″ Smoothfoam half-heart

Aleene’s Original Tacky GlueClock movement kit

1. Paint disk with two coats of Buttermilk; allow to dry.
2. Paint half-heart with two coats of red; allow to dry.
3. Refer to the photo (click to enlarge) to stamp the disc with clock and bird stamps.
4. Rub the edges with distress ink and a sponge.
5. Embellish as desired—be sure the elements do not block the path of the clock’s hands.
